Heal Your Story. Claim Your Future. Find Hope in Dallas, TX.
Welcome. I am Neddy Dommer, and I am genuinely honored that you have found your way here. My deepest desire involves meeting you exactly where you currently are in your life's journey. Together, we will create a safe, supportive space to gently uncover those parts of you that have been hurt. We will also acknowledge and honor the protective aspects that developed for your safety, both within yourself and in your relationships with others. Through this collaborative work, you will build new, healthier connections within your own being, ultimately empowering you to make different choices in your life moving forward.
I have always felt a strong calling to be a supportive presence for others, a role I learned at a very young age within my own family. This early experience naturally guided me toward becoming a therapist later in life. Additionally, I have always been a profound lover of stories. I spent the first half of my adult life immersed in that world, often putting words to paper and working through my own internal narrative. This journey proved incredibly helpful as a mother of four, enabling me to choose new ways of relating to my children than what I had experienced growing up. Yet, despite my best intentions, I could still feel and see myself inadvertently creating some of the very wounds in my children that I had vowed to avoid.
When my youngest child entered their double digits, I felt a powerful stirring within myself to become even more intentional in my relationships. This inner nudge led me to the Masters in Marriage & Family program at The King’s University. While in the program, I attended a weekend intensive called “KAIROS,” which became a pivotal invitation to pause and connect more deeply. In that moment, the concepts of "holding space" and "story" powerfully collided for me in an incredibly visceral way. This experience propelled me into extensive trauma training with pioneers like Bessel van der Kolk. I then pursued in-depth study of Polyvagal Theory with Stephen Porges and Deb Dana, and Interpersonal Neurobiology with Dan Siegel. I also became EMDRIA certified in EMDR, and gained specialized training with Colin Ross for DID. It became increasingly clear to me that how individuals’ stories were held – first in childhood, then within themselves, and finally expressed in intimate adult relationships – directly determined whether they experienced trauma or developed secure attachment. Therefore, Attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology serve as the core foundations of my practice. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families as we compassionately explore their attachment and developmental wounding together.
I utilize a comprehensive blend of therapeutic approaches to facilitate deep and lasting healing. Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology provide the crucial cognitive understanding necessary for profound insight into your experiences. To complement this cognitive work, I incorporate powerful right-brain somatic and emotional expression and support through various modalities. These include EMDR, ETT, Sandtray, Expressive Arts, IASIS MCN, and SSP. Each method is carefully chosen to offer direct support for your emotional processing.
The therapy space we create together is always profoundly collaborative, wonderfully compassionate, and filled with genuine curiosity. It exists as a completely non-judgmental environment where we honor your unique journey at every step. My approach is highly adaptive, meaning I ensure that I meet each individual exactly where they are in their personal process, tailoring interventions to your specific needs.
I bring a strong foundation of education and specialized training to my practice. Here are my key qualifications and affiliations:

Unlike traditional couples therapy, Neddy blends Gottman Method, Relational Life Therapy, and Interpersonal Neurobiology to help DFW couples break cycles of conflict and deepen attachment. Her focus on "right-brain" somatic work (like Sandtray and Expressive Arts) helps partners communicate beyond words. Whether you’re in Austin or Houston, her telehealth sessions offer science-backed tools for lasting connection.
Yes! As a certified EMDRIA therapist, Neddy uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help Texas clients reprocess childhood trauma, anxiety, and PTSD without retraumatization. Combined with Sandtray and Polyvagal Theory, this approach is especially effective for high-achievers in Dallas who feel "stuck" despite outward success.
The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) is a neuroscience-based auditory therapy that calms the nervous system. Neddy, a certified SSP provider, uses it for DFW clients with ADHD, autism, or trauma-related hypervigilance. Many Texas parents report improved focus and emotional regulation in just 5 hours of listening.
If you struggle with trust, chronic loneliness, or repeating unhealthy relationship patterns, attachment therapy can help. Neddy’s Dallas practice uses Interpersonal Neurobiology to map how early bonds shape your adult life. Clients in Houston and San Antonio also access her telehealth sessions to heal developmental wounds and build secure connections.
Trauma therapy with Neddy Dommer, a Dallas-based EMDR and attachment specialist, helps you safely process past wounds while rebuilding emotional safety and secure relationships. Using Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, and somatic therapies, we address how trauma lives in your body and mind. Many clients in Fort Worth, Plano, and Frisco find relief from anxiety, PTSD, and relationship struggles through this holistic, neuroscience-backed approach.
